From the Principal's Desk- May 2006
From The Principal,
As the school year comes to a close, we would like to thank you for your support of our efforts at Lincoln College Preparatory Academy. Teachers and students have worked together this school year and many educational goals have been accomplished. Students have been involved in a number of districts, state and regional competitions and our Lincoln students have made us very proud of their accomplishments. We look forward to our continued relationship with you and it is our goal to prepare your student for the rigors of their future college education.
Please note the following areas that we will need your support on as we close out the school year. Parents of graduating seniors, please see enclosed page on various senior activities and important information. Parents are encouraged to contact teachers and counselors of their students, should they have any concerns regarding the graduation status of their student. Parents are reminded that all graduating seniors must meet all Lincoln graduation requirements in order to participate in graduation on May 23, 2006. In addition all financial obligations must be cleared before students can acquire transcripts for college after graduation.
Student Grades: Parents please ensure that you get your copy of both progress reports and grade cards that are mailed to your homes. Continue to contact teachers on their planning times to learn how your students are progressing in their classes. Parent conferences can also be arranged by counselors, administrators and team leaders at the middle school. Please do not leave your students grades to chance. Parents are reminded that all students must maintain a 2.5 Grade Point Average (GPA) to remain at Lincoln. Students failing to maintain a 2.5 GPA will be placed on probation for one semester. Should the student’s GPA remain below a 2.5 GPA after two semesters, students will be demitted to return to their neighborhood schools. Parental involvement is the key to student success.
