The Kansas City Missouri School District Payroll Department is
responsible for paying over 5,000 employees. We issue paychecks to our
salaried
employee’s semi-monthly and our hourly employees every two weeks.
In 2005, our total annual payroll was more than $190 million dollars
and more than $47 million dollars were remitted to the Federal government
for payroll taxes. More than 6,000 W-2’s were issued for calendar
year 2005.
Time and attendance data is entered online by each school/location.
After it is entered and approved by the Principal or certifying officer,
the payroll department reviews and balances the information. JD Edwards
software is used to process the payroll for our employees. Payroll checks
and direct deposit advices are printed and distributed by the Treasury
Department.
The payroll department consists of a team of five payroll
professionals. They are very hard working and dedicated to making sure
that all employees are paid accurately and on-time. Everyone in the
payroll department has at least 12 years of service with the District.
Combined they have more than 78 years of service with the District.
