The EEO-Employee/Labor Relations
Unit is comprised of four distinct programs: Equal Employment
Opportunity (EEO), Employee/Labor Relations; (School)
Core data reporting; and Educator Certification.
1) EEO Relations– implements
and monitors compliance with School Board policies
on Equal Employment Opportunity
and Anti-Discrimination/Harassment, workforce diversity
and related programs; Receives, investigates and resolves
complaints of discrimination/harassment; receives,
process and implement Workplace Accommodation Requests.
Compilation and submission of EEO statistical reports.

2) Employee/Labor Relations coordinates the District’s
unemployment-insurance program, provides consultation
on employee relations matters and policy interpretation,
and is responsible for administering contracts with
bargaining units; grievance and complaint resolution;
Manages the non-renewal and termination of probationary
and tenured teachers, in accordance with Missouri Statutes
on teacher terminations.
3) School Core Data entails the collection, compilation
and reporting of descriptive statistics about KCMSD’s
Schools to the Department of Elementary and Secondary
Education. KCMSD reports data items six times during
the course of a year; beginning-of-the-year items in
the August and October cycles, midyear items in the
December, February and April cycles and end-of-the-year
items in the June cycle.
4) Educator Certification- The Educator Certification
unit is charged with the responsibility of ensuring
that all KCMSD newly hired and current teachers/administrators
comply with Missouri law requiring that educators meet
the requirement of obtaining and/or maintaining professional
certification.
