EXCELLENCE FUND AWARDS HOW TO JUMP START A GREAT PROJECT
Do you need additional funding for special programs to enhance the learning environment, to increase the effectiveness of instruction or to help strengthen ties between your school and the community? If yes, please tell us about your needs by submitting a simple proposal for a grant from the Excellence Fund and send it as an email attachment to fandrews@kcmsd.net.
The Excellence Fund supports the Kansas City Missouri, School District by generating additional funds beyond traditional revenue sources. An Advisory Committee made up of KCMSD alumni, employees, and community leaders (business, academic, civic) will evaluate the proposals. One or two awards of up to $1,000 will be made each round honoring innovative proposals that spark new ideas in the classroom or bring your school and community closer together.
Fred Andrews, Coordinator of Grants and Special Projects, serves as the Chair of the Excellence Fund Advisory Committee and looks forward to sharing your requests with the Committee in the spring and fall. Please contact him directly with any questions regarding the Excellence Fund or the award process. He will also tell you how the Grants Team can help you seek funding for your project in its entirety through other sources . . . foundations, corporate and private funders, as well as government sources.
